Golden, crisp, and coated in cinnamon sugar, these Air Fryer Churro Bites bring the joy of fairground churros right into your kitchen with less oil and no mess.
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup water
1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 large egg
1 cup white sugar (for coating)
1 tablespoon cinnamon powder (for coating)
Instructions
1. Heat water, butter, salt, and sugar in a saucepan until boiling, then reduce heat and stir in flour until dough forms.
2. Remove from heat and let the dough cool for about 4–5 minutes.
3. Add egg and vanilla to the dough and beat until smooth.
4. Preheat air fryer to 375°F and lightly grease the basket.
5. Pipe small bite-sized pieces of dough into the basket or use a spoon to form shapes.
6. Lightly brush with melted butter and air fry for 10–12 minutes until golden brown.
7. Combine sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and toss the warm churro bites in the mixture.
8. If the coating doesn’t stick well, brush bites with a little more butter or spray before tossing.
9. Serve warm with optional dipping sauces like chocolate, honey, or Nutella.

Bread flour can be used instead of all-purpose; whole wheat flour will make them denser

Best eaten warm and fresh; reheat briefly in air fryer if needed
