Ingredients

4 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts

2 tablespoons olive oil

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1.5 cups marinara sauce

1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F and position rack in the middle.

2. Season both sides of chicken with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

3. Heat olive oil in skillet on medium-high; sear chicken 5 minutes per side.

4. Transfer seared chicken to greased baking dish (9×13).

5. Pour and spread marinara sauce over the chicken.

6. Sprinkle parmesan, then mozzarella over chicken.

7. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes (or 15 if smaller pieces).

8. Broil briefly to brown cheese (watch closely).

9. Let rest 5 minutes before serving. Internal temp should reach 165°F.

Notes

Use an oven-safe skillet to skip transferring to another dish.

If short on time, you can skip searing—just increase bake time to at least 30 minutes.

Let the chicken rest after baking to keep it juicy.
