Description

Rich and fudgy Cherry Cheesecake Brownies layered with creamy cheesecake and sweet cherry topping. Perfect dessert bars for any occasion.


Ingredients

1 cup butter, melted and slightly cooled

2 1/2 cups granulated sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

4 eggs

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour or all-purpose flour

1 cup cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 package cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar (for cheesecake layer)

1 egg (for cheesecake layer)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cheesecake layer)

1 can cherry pie filling


Instructions

1. Prepare a baking pan by lining and greasing it, then preheat the oven.

2. Mix melted butter, sugar, and vanilla until smooth, then beat in eggs.

3. Stir in flour, cocoa powder, and salt until a thick brownie batter forms.

4. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth, then mix in sugar, egg, and vanilla.

5. Spread most of the brownie batter into the pan.

6. Layer the cheesecake mixture evenly over the brownie batter.

7. Spoon cherry pie filling over the cheesecake layer.

8. Drop remaining brownie batter on top and lightly swirl.

9. Bake until the center is set and a toothpick shows moist crumbs.

10. Cool completely, then slice into bars.

Notes

Batter will be thick and not spread evenly on top, which is normal.

Chill brownies before slicing for clean edges.

Use a warm knife and wipe between cuts.

Whole wheat flour works well without affecting taste.

Store in the refrigerator due to cheesecake layer.
