Description
Juicy strawberries dipped in smooth melted chocolate simple, quick, and perfect for Valentine’s Day or any celebration.
Ingredients
16 ounces fresh strawberries (about 24 strawberries)
10 ounces chocolate chips (semi-sweet, milk, or dark chocolate all work)
Instructions
1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Wash strawberries and dry them thoroughly with paper towels; ensure they are at room temperature.
2. Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring each time until smooth, or use a double boiler on the stove.
3. Hold each strawberry by the leaves and dip into the chocolate until just below the top, rotating for even coverage. Gently shake off excess chocolate.
4. Place dipped strawberries on the lined baking sheet and let them dry at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes. Refrigerate if a firmer coating is desired.
5. Optional: drizzle with extra melted chocolate in different flavors for decoration.
Notes
Strawberries must be completely dry before dipping to ensure the chocolate adheres properly.
Allow refrigerated strawberries to return to room temperature before using to avoid condensation.
Scrape excess chocolate off the bottom of each dipped strawberry on the edge of the bowl to avoid pooling.
Chocolate can be melted and poured into a small glass (like a shot glass) to ease dipping.
Toppings such as chopped nuts, shredded or toasted coconut, cacao nibs, or a chocolate drizzle can be added while the coating is still wet.
Best consumed the day they’re made, but can be stored in a single layer in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 48 hours on a paper towel to absorb moisture.
