Ingredients
BROWNIES
6 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
1 cup unsalted butter
1 1/3 cup granulated white sugar
3 large eggs, room temperature
2 tsp vanilla extract
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
Pinch of salt
FROSTING
3/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
2 cups confectioners’ sugar
1/3 cup cocoa powder
2 tbsp heavy whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
OPTIONAL
Festive sprinkles or crushed candy canes
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8×8-inch pan.
2. Melt butter and chocolate over low heat. Stir smooth. Let cool slightly.
3. Sift flour and salt together.
4. Beat eggs, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Do not overmix.
5. Stir in cooled chocolate. Fold in flour just until combined.
6. Spread batter in pan. Bake 25 minutes, or until a toothpick shows moist crumbs.
7. Cool completely in the pan.
8. Beat butter and confectioners’ sugar for 5 minutes until fluffy.
9. Add cocoa, vanilla, and salt. Mix 1 minute.
10. Add cream one tablespoon at a time. Beat until combined.
11. Beat on high for 5 minutes until very light and airy.
12. Frost cooled brownies, add sprinkles, and cut into 16 squares.
Notes
Tips: Measure carefully, avoid overmixing, and check doneness early for fudgy texture. Whip frosting a full 10 minutes total for extra fluff.
Substitutions: Swap granulated sugar with light brown sugar; use semi-sweet chocolate chips for chopped chocolate. Keep frosting formula unchanged.
Serving & Storage: Serve at room temperature. Store airtight 3 days at room temp or 5 days in the fridge. Freeze unfrosted brownies up to 1 month; thaw, then frost.
