Description

A buttery, chocolatey, and crunchy holiday treat made from saltine crackers, brown sugar toffee, and melted chocolate. Perfect for Christmas gifting or snacking!

Ingredients

Scale

40 saltine crackers

1 cup salted butter

1 cup brown sugar

2 cups Ghirardelli chocolate chips

Christmas sprinkles

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a 10 x 15-inch baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with non-stick spray. Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer.

2. Melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan, stirring until combined. Once boiling, cook for 5 minutes while stirring constantly.

3. Pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the crackers. Bake for 5 minutes.

4. Remove from the oven, then sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Wait for them to melt, then spread evenly.

5. Top with sprinkles and let cool completely. Once set, break into pieces and store in an airtight container.

Notes

Avoid overcooking the toffee mixture—it may burn or harden too much.

Cool fully before breaking into pieces for the perfect crack.

Swap sprinkles for crushed candy canes, M&M’s, toffee bits, or chopped pecans.

Stores beautifully in a sealed tin for up to a week.
