Description

A creamy, cheesy Brussels sprouts side dish that’s ready in under 1 hour. Perfect for Christmas dinners with beef, ham, turkey, or prime rib.

Ingredients

Scale

2 lbs Brussels sprouts, washed and halved

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp butter

1/4 tsp salt

1/8 tsp ground black pepper

1/2 cup chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream (or half + half / whole milk)

1 1/2 cups shredded white cheese (mozzarella, Havarti, Gouda, or Cheddar), reserve 1/2 cup for topping

1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Clean and halve Brussels sprouts.

3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium-high heat.

4. Add Brussels sprouts and garlic, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for 5 minutes.

5. Add chicken broth and sauté for another 5 minutes until broth evaporates.

6. Transfer sprouts to an oven-safe dish.

7. Pour in cream, mix in 1 cup shredded white cheese and all Parmesan.

8. Top with remaining 1/2 cup white cheese.

9. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until bubbling and golden on top.

10. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

• Use fresh Brussels sprouts for best flavor and texture.

• Mix cheese varieties for richer taste.

• Add crisped bacon or pancetta for a smoky twist.

• Not ideal for make-ahead; serve fresh out of the oven.

• Rest 5 minutes before serving for a thicker, creamier sauce.
