Description
Soft and fluffy dinner rolls brushed with garlic herb butter; ideal side for Thanksgiving and holiday meals.
Ingredients
Dough:
1 cup warm whole milk (105-110°F)
2¼ tsp instant yeast
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 large egg (room temperature)
3 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
1½ tsp salt
3¼ cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
Garlic Herb Butter:
4 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
2 garlic cloves (minced)
1 tbsp chopped parsley (fresh or dried)
1 tsp chopped rosemary (optional)
Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. In a stand mixer bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
2. Add egg, melted butter, salt, and flour. Mix on low with dough hook until combined.
3. Knead on medium-low for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4. Place dough in greased bowl, cover, and rise 1 hour until doubled.
5. Punch down dough, divide into 12 equal pieces, shape into balls.
6. Place in greased 9×13” baking dish. Cover and rise again 30–40 minutes.
7. Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake 18–20 minutes until golden brown.
8. While baking, prepare garlic herb butter.
9. Brush hot rolls with garlic butter immediately after baking.
Notes
Use whole milk for best richness.
Ensure yeast is fresh and milk is not too hot to avoid killing yeast.
Brush with garlic butter while hot for best flavor infusion.
Can substitute dried herbs for fresh.
Rolls can be frozen after baking and reheated.
