Description
A spooky twist on Oreo-stuffed cookies with melty chips and orange crème centers. Perfect for parties, trick-or-treating, and bake sales.
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, slightly softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, plus extra for topping
9 Halloween Oreos (orange crème)
1/4 cup Halloween sprinkles
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment or a silicone mat.
2. Cream butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth.
3. Add egg and vanilla. Mix until fluffy and combined.
4. Whisk flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
5. Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Mix just to combine.
6. Fold in chocolate chips and Halloween sprinkles.
7. Scoop about 1/4 cup dough. Flatten in your palm. Place an Oreo in the center.
8. Fold dough around the Oreo. Seal and roll into a ball.
9. Bake 10 minutes. Centers should look slightly underdone.
10. Immediately press extra chocolate chips on top. Cool 5 minutes on the sheet, then transfer to a rack.
Notes
You can use a hand mixer, stand mixer, or mix by hand.
Store-bought dough works, but homemade dough bakes thicker.
Cookies will finish setting as they cool, so slightly underbake for gooey centers.
