Description
A quick and hearty one-skillet dinner made with juicy steak bites, golden potatoes, and a rich garlic butter sauce. Perfect for weeknights.
Ingredients
2 lb cubed steak (sirloin or NY Strip)
2 lb Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and cubed
3 tsp salt (or more to taste)
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp Italian seasoning
2 tsp paprika
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp browning sauce (optional)
2 tbsp olive oil
6 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
2 tbsp minced garlic
2 tbsp chopped parsley
Garnish: fresh parsley, red pepper flakes
Instructions
1. In a bowl, mix salt, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Divide into two portions.
2. Combine softened butter with garlic, parsley, and salt. Set aside.
3. Toss steak with Worcestershire sauce, browning sauce (optional), and half the seasoning mix.
4. Parboil potatoes 5–6 minutes. Drain, cool, and toss with remaining seasoning and 1 tbsp olive oil.
5. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in skillet over medium-high. Sear steak cubes for 5–7 minutes. Set aside.
6. In the same skillet, cook potatoes for 10–15 minutes until golden and fork-tender.
7. Return steak to pan. Stir in garlic butter and mix well until coated.
8. Garnish with parsley and red pepper flakes. Serve hot.
Notes
Parboiling potatoes ensures tender centers and crispy edges.
Use cast iron for best sear and flavor.
Avoid overcooking steak—1 minute per side is plenty for bite-sized pieces.
This dish stores well for meal prep. Just reheat with a splash of oil.
