Description

Rich, fudgy Heart Shaped Brownies Recipe perfect for Valentine’s Day or any celebration. Easy to bake, deeply chocolatey, and fun to decorate with sugar, chocolate drizzle, or sprinkles.

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)

1/4 cup neutral oil

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)

3 large eggs (room temperature)

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon espresso powder (optional)

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cocoa powder (Dutch-process or natural)

3/4 teaspoon kosher salt

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

Finishing options: powdered sugar, melted chocolate drizzle, sprinkles

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9-inch metal pan with parchment paper, leaving a 2-inch overhang.

2. Melt butter, then whisk with both sugars and oil until glossy.

3. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each. Stir in vanilla and espresso powder.

4. In another bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, and salt.

5. Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients just until combined. Avoid overmixing.

6. Stir in chocolate chips and spread batter evenly into pan.

7. Bake for 24–28 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.

8. Cool for 20–30 minutes in the pan, then lift out using parchment and chill for 15–20 minutes.

9. Cut into hearts using cookie cutters; dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate.

Notes

Use parchment with overhang for easy removal.

Chill brownies before cutting to prevent crumbling.

Dust cutters with cocoa powder to prevent sticking.

Whisk eggs and sugar thoroughly for shiny tops.

Weigh or spoon-and-level flour for best texture.

Store in airtight container at room temperature up to 3 days, fridge for 5–6 days, or freeze up to 2 months.
