Description
Soft, chewy, and full of melty chocolate — these heart shaped chocolate chip cookies make the sweetest Valentine’s Day treat. Easy no-chill dough and simple heart-cut shaping.
Ingredients
2¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
¾ teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
½ cup light brown sugar, packed
½ cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 large eggs, room temperature
1½ cups semisweet chocolate chips (mix of regular and mini)
Optional: chopped semisweet chocolate bar for chunks, festive sprinkles
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, beat butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
4. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until combined.
6. Fold in chocolate chips and optional chunks.
7. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough per cookie, spacing 2–3 inches apart.
8. Bake for 9–11 minutes, until edges are golden and centers slightly soft.
9. Immediately after baking, use a heart-shaped cutter to cut cookies into shape.
10. Cool cookies on sheet 5–7 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
Notes
Use room temperature butter and eggs for the best results.
Weigh flour or spoon and level for accuracy.
Press extra chopped chocolate on top before baking for gooey puddles.
Add sprinkles before baking for festive color.
Store in airtight container up to 5 days or freeze up to 3 months.
