Description

A rich, sweet-tart cranberry sauce infused with honey, orange zest, and a splash of bourbon. Perfect for Thanksgiving or any cozy meal.


Ingredients

Scale

4 cups (340g) fresh cranberries

1/3 cup (65g) brown sugar

1/3 cup (115g) honey

1/3 cup (80ml) bourbon

2 sprigs fresh rosemary

1/2 tsp ground cloves

1 cinnamon stick

Zest of 1 orange + juice of 1/2 orange

Pinch of salt and black pepper


Instructions

1. Combine all ingredients in a pot over medium heat.

2. Stir until sugar dissolves and cranberries begin to soften.

3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

4. Stir occasionally until cranberries burst.

5. Taste and add extra honey if needed.

6. Remove rosemary sprigs and cinnamon stick.

7. Cool completely before storing.

8. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

The sauce thickens as it cools.

Flavors deepen after chilling overnight.

Mash or blend for smoother texture.

Can be made ahead and frozen up to 3 months.
