Description
These July Firework Cupcakes are edible bursts of celebration, swirled in red, white, and blue frosting to mimic the sparkle of fireworks. Perfect for your 4th of July BBQ, picnic, or party table!

- 1 box vanilla cupcake mix (or your favorite homemade vanilla cupcake batter)
- Buttercream frosting or vanilla frosting (store-bought or homemade)
- Red and blue gel food coloring
- Patriotic sprinkles
- Cupcake liners
- Piping bags (or zip-top bags)
- Optional: Star-shaped candies, pop rocks, firework cupcake toppers
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a 12-cup muffin tin with festive liners.
- Prepare the batter as per box or homemade recipe.
- Fill each liner 2/3 full and bake for 18–20 minutes.
- Cool completely before decorating.
- Divide frosting into three bowls: color one red, one blue, and leave one white.
- Swirl method 1: Place spoonfuls of each color side-by-side in a large piping bag.
- Swirl method 2: Use three separate piping bags and slide them into a larger one with a star tip.
- Pipe tall swirls to mimic firework bursts.
- Top with sprinkles, edible glitter, or firework toppers.
Notes
Use gel food coloring for the most vibrant colors. For extra sparkle, add edible glitter or pop rocks just before serving!
