Description
Quick and easy 15-minute chicken breast recipe seared with lemon pepper seasoning and topped with lemon garlic butter sauce.
Ingredients
2 large chicken breasts (about 1½ lbs), sliced horizontally
Flour (or cornstarch/arrowroot for gluten-free)
Lemon pepper seasoning (avoid fillers; Simply Organic brand recommended)
Salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (from 1 lemon)
¼ cup low-sodium chicken broth
1 teaspoon lemon zest
Optional: freshly chopped parsley and lemon slices for garnish
Instructions
1. Slice chicken breasts horizontally to create thin cutlets.
2. In a shallow bowl, combine flour, lemon pepper seasoning, and salt.
3. Coat each chicken piece evenly in the seasoning mix.
4. Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and internal temp reaches 160–165°F.
5. Remove chicken and set aside. In the same skillet, add butter and garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds.
6. Add chicken broth and lemon juice, and let simmer for 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly.
7. Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over each piece.
8. Top with lemon zest, fresh parsley, and lemon slices before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine or more garlic to the sauce.
Pairs well with zucchini noodles, mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or green beans.
Use arrowroot, tapioca, or cornstarch for a gluten-free version.
Avoid lemon pepper seasoning with fillers—choose quality for best flavor.
Use a meat thermometer to ensure juicy, properly cooked chicken.
