Description
Crispy, cheesy, and tender chicken baked with Parmesan and mozzarella for a perfect Longhorn Steakhouse-style dinner at home.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, pounded evenly
1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus extra for topping)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs
1/4 cup milk
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly oil a baking dish.
2. In three shallow dishes, place flour in the first, whisked eggs and milk in the second, and bread crumbs mixed with half the Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in the third.
3. Dredge each chicken breast first in flour, then in the egg mixture, then coat fully in the breadcrumb mixture.
4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sear chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
5. Transfer chicken to prepared baking dish. Combine remaining Parmesan, mozzarella, and minced garlic, and spread over each piece.
6. Bake for 20–25 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F and cheese is melted and bubbly.
7. Let chicken rest briefly before serving.
Notes
Use freshly grated Parmesan for best texture and flavor.
If cheese browns too quickly, loosely cover with foil during baking.
For added spice, include red pepper flakes in breadcrumb mix.
Chicken can be assembled ahead and refrigerated up to 24 hours before baking.
Allow chicken to rest briefly after baking to retain juices.
