Ingredients
1 large egg
1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
Optional: chopped scallions, herbs, garlic powder
Instructions
1. Preheat waffle maker.
2. Whisk egg and shredded cheese together in a small bowl.
3. Pour the mixture into the waffle maker (do not overfill).
4. Cook for 3–4 minutes until golden and crisp.
5. Remove and let cool slightly on a rack to firm.
Notes
Let chaffles cool on a rack for extra crispiness.
Use mild mozzarella for sweet versions.
Freeze between parchment sheets; reheat in toaster or air fryer.
Avoid microwaving—texture will soften.
