1 large egg mixed with 1 tablespoon water (egg wash)
Optional sanding sugar

2. Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness and cut 12 circles using a 4-inch cutter
3. Press dough into muffin cups, bringing it up the sides
4. Fill each cup with about 1/4 cup cherry pie filling
5. Use leftover dough to create lattice or decorative tops
6. Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle sugar if desired
7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown
8. Cool completely, then remove from pan using a knife to loosen edges

Leftover dough is perfect for decorative toppings
You can substitute cherry filling with blueberry, apple, or strawberry
