Description

Ingredients

1 cup powdered sugar

1 whole egg

1 egg yolk

612 drops green food coloring

2 cups all-purpose flour

24 chocolate kisses


Instructions

1. Heat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Beat butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Mix in the whole egg, egg yolk, peppermint extract, and green food coloring until evenly combined.

4. Add flour, baking powder, and kosher salt, mixing just until a soft dough forms.

5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.

6. Bake for 7–9 minutes, removing cookies while centers are still soft.

7. Let cookies rest for 1–2 minutes, then gently press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.

8. Transfer to a cooling rack and cool completely before storing.

Notes

Rolling dough balls in granulated sugar before baking adds sparkle and light crunch.

Slightly underbaking keeps the cookies soft and tender.

Press the chocolate kiss into the cookies while they are still warm so it softens without melting into a puddle.
