Description
Mint Oreo Bark is a quick no-bake dessert made with melted white chocolate, mint extract, and chunky Oreo pieces. You spread it thin, freeze it until firm, then break it into shareable pieces.
Ingredients
1/2 of a 15.5-oz package of regular Oreos (about 20 cookies)
24 oz white chocolate morsels
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon mint extract (or peppermint extract)
Green food coloring (optional)
Instructions
1. Line a large baking sheet with wax paper or parchment paper.
2. Break the Oreos into small chunks and place them in a bowl.
3. Melt the white chocolate morsels gently until smooth, stirring often.
4. Stir in the mint extract, then add a few drops of green food coloring if using.
5. Quickly mix in the Oreo pieces until coated.
6. Spread the mixture into a thin, even layer on the lined baking sheet.
7. Freeze for about 2 hours, or until fully hardened.
8. Lift from the pan and break into pieces.
Notes
Peppermint or mint extract both work. Start with 1/4 teaspoon, then add more to taste.
Melt white chocolate gently and stir often so it stays smooth. If it thickens or seizes, stir in a little shortening to help it loosen.
Food coloring is optional.
A large baking sheet helps create a thin bark that breaks easily.
Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for longer.
The bark firms up quickly once placed in the freezer.
