Description
Creamy Parmesan Garlic Chicken Pasta made in the slow cooker with tender shredded chicken and a rich garlic parmesan sauce. This easy crockpot dinner requires just minutes of prep and delivers a hearty, comforting meal for about four people.
Ingredients
2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
10 ounces dry pasta
12 ounces parmesan garlic sauce
8 ounces cream cheese, cut into pieces
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Chopped parsley for garnish
Red pepper flakes for garnish
Instructions
1. Lightly coat the inside of a slow cooker with nonstick spray.
2. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
3. Pour the parmesan garlic sauce evenly over the chicken.
4. Add pieces of cream cheese and sprinkle grated parmesan on top.
5. Cover and cook until the chicken becomes tender, about 5 to 6 hours on low or 3 to 4 hours on high.
6. Remove the cooked chicken and shred it using forks.
7. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and mix it thoroughly with the sauce.
8. Cook the pasta separately according to package instructions and drain it well.
9. Add the cooked pasta to the slow cooker and stir until the pasta is fully coated in the creamy sauce.
10. Serve warm topped with chopped parsley and red pepper flakes if desired.
Notes
Allow cream cheese to soften or cut it into small pieces so it melts smoothly into the sauce.
Cook pasta separately and add it near the end to prevent it from absorbing too much sauce.
If the sauce becomes too thick, mix in a little reserved pasta water, milk, or broth to loosen it.
Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F before shredding.
The sauce can have a slight spicy kick depending on the brand used.
