Description

This Pistachio Cranberry Brie Swirl Christmas Tree is an easy, showstopping holiday appetizer made with buttery puff pastry, creamy brie, tart cranberry sauce, and crunchy pistachios — baked into a golden, festive centerpiece.

Ingredients

Scale

2 sheets ready-rolled puff pastry, thawed

1 egg yolk + 1 tsp water (egg wash)

1 wheel of brie (200–250g), sliced

½ cup cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought)

¼ cup pistachios, roughly chopped

Zest of ½ orange (optional)

All-purpose flour, for dusting

Baking paper

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into equal rectangles.

3. Spread cranberry sauce over one pastry sheet, leaving a 1 cm border.

4. Layer with brie slices, chopped pistachios, and optional orange zest.

5. Place the second pastry sheet on top and press edges to seal.

6. Cut out a large triangle shape for the tree; use scraps for decorations.

7. Slice horizontal branches along both sides, leaving the center intact.

8. Twist each branch outward to form a spiral.

9. Brush with egg wash for shine and bake for 22–25 minutes until golden.

10. Let cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Orange zest adds brightness but is optional.

Best served warm for ideal texture and flavor.

Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated before baking.

Try walnuts or almonds instead of pistachios for variation.

Vegan version: use plant-based cheese and aquafaba as egg wash.
