Description
Soft, creamy Red Velvet Cake Pops dipped in white chocolate are perfect for Valentine’s Day. A bite-sized treat that’s fun to make and even more fun to share.
Ingredients
1 package red velvet cake mix
1/3 cup cream cheese frosting
12 oz white candy melts
Instructions
1. Bake the red velvet cake according to package directions at 350°F until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool completely.
2. Crumble the cake into a bowl, reserving 1/2 cup crumbs for decoration.
3. Mix the remaining cake crumbs with cream cheese frosting until the texture feels like play dough.
4. Cover and freeze until chilled.
5. Roll into small balls, about the size of ping pong balls, and freeze again until firm.
6. Melt the candy melts until smooth.
7. Dip the tip of each lollipop stick into melted coating, then insert into each cake ball. Freeze to set.
8. Dip each cake pop into melted coating, letting excess drip off. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs.
9. Stand upright in foam or a box until coating hardens.
Notes
Start with less frosting and add more only if needed.
Always chill cake balls before dipping to avoid cracking.
Thin candy melts with coconut oil if needed.
Tap off extra coating gently for a smooth finish.
