Description

Soft and chewy cheese cookies with a warm cinnamon sugar coating. These buttery cream cheese cookies are soft inside with a sweet, slightly tangy flavor — a perfect treat for Christmas gatherings or gifting.

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

4 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1 egg

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste or extract

Pinch kosher salt

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

1. Blend softened butter and cream cheese with a hand mixer until smooth.

2. Gradually add powdered sugar until fully incorporated.

3. Mix in the egg, baking powder, vanilla, and salt.

4. Slowly add flour until dough forms, scraping the bowl as needed.

5. Chill dough in the refrigerator for one hour.

6. Preheat oven to 375°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

7. Combine cinnamon and granulated sugar in a small bowl.

8. Shape dough into 1-inch balls (about 2 teaspoons each) and roll in cinnamon sugar.

9. Place 2 inches apart on baking sheets and bake 8–9 minutes until set but not browned.

10. Cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling.
