Description
Soft, chewy Spring Blossom Cookies coated in bright colored sugar and topped with a Hershey’s Kiss — perfect for Easter, spring parties, or birthday celebrations.
Ingredients
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup salted butter, softened
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
Bright colored sanding sugar for rolling
24 unwrapped Hershey’s Kisses candies
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Unwrap Hershey’s Kisses and set aside.
3. Cream sugar and butter together, then mix in egg and vanilla until smooth.
4. In another bowl, whisk flour and baking soda, then combine with the wet mixture to form dough.
5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls, coat with colored sanding sugar, and place on the baking sheet.
6. Bake for about 7 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
7. Immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie after baking.
8. Let cookies cool completely on the sheet so the chocolate sets.
Notes
Makes 24 cookies.
Prep time is around 10 minutes; bake time is about 7 minutes.
Add the chocolate while cookies are warm so it sticks and sets properly.
Bright sanding sugar adds a festive spring look.
Birthday cake flavored Kisses can be used for variation.
