Description

Spring Blossom Cookies are soft, chewy sugar cookies rolled in pastel sanding sugar and topped with a chocolate kiss. This easy Easter dessert comes together in just 20 minutes and makes about 24 colorful cookies perfect for spring gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 large egg

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 tablespoon milk, optional

Colored sanding sugar or sprinkles for coating

24 chocolate kiss candies

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.

3. In a separate bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

4. Mix in the egg and vanilla until fully incorporated.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until a soft dough forms. Add milk if dough feels dry.

6. Scoop and roll the dough into small balls, then coat each one in colored sanding sugar or sprinkles.

7. Place dough balls on prepared baking sheets, spacing slightly apart.

8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until edges are lightly golden.

9. Remove from the oven and immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.

10. Allow cookies to cool completely before serving.

Notes

Cookies have a soft chewy center with a lightly crisp sugar-coated exterior.

Add a small amount of milk if dough seems crumbly.

Unwrap chocolate candies before baking for quick placement.

Dough should resemble soft play dough and should not stick heavily to hands.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 to 4 days.

Cookies can be frozen up to 6 months. Slight chocolate discoloration does not affect taste.
