Ingredients
Fresh strawberries, finely chopped
Light brown sugar
Cream cheese, softened

Instructions
1. Cook chopped strawberries with brown sugar over medium heat until thick, then cool and chill a portion
2. Mix cream cheese with sugar and vanilla until smooth, portion into discs, and freeze until firm
3. Whisk melted butter with sugar and vanilla, then add egg and mix until smooth
4. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, then fold into wet mixture to form dough
5. Gently fold in fresh strawberries and prepared jam
6. Flatten dough portions, place frozen cream cheese in center, seal, and shape into balls
7. Place on lined baking sheet, flatten slightly, and sprinkle with sugar
8. Bake at 175°C until edges are lightly golden and centers remain soft, then cool before serving
Notes
Pat strawberries dry to reduce excess moisture
Lightly coat strawberries in flour if needed
Avoid store-bought jam as it is too thin
Chill dough or filling for easier handling
Cookies should look slightly underbaked in the center when removed
