Description
Festive, flavorful, and unbelievably easy to make — this slow cooker Christmas jam blends cranberries, strawberries, and warm holiday spices for a homemade treat that tastes like Christmas in a jar.
Ingredients
1½ lb frozen cranberries
1½ lb frozen strawberries
1 cup white sugar
1¼ cups light brown sugar
2 tsp ground allspice
1 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground ginger
Instructions
1. Add frozen cranberries, strawberries, both sugars, allspice, cinnamon, and ginger to a slow cooker and mix well to coat the fruit evenly.
2. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours. Stir once halfway through to prevent sticking, then re-cover and let finish cooking until soft and bubbling.
3. Carefully transfer the hot mixture to a blender and pulse twice, just enough to break it down but not purée completely.
4. Spoon the hot jam into clean, sterilized jars. Wipe rims, secure lids loosely, and let jars cool completely at room temperature.
5. After cooling, tighten lids slightly and refrigerate overnight before use.
Notes
Avoid adding extra liquid, as the berries release plenty of moisture.
Don’t open the lid too often during cooking.
For thicker jam, crack the lid slightly during the final hour.
To check readiness, place a spoonful on a chilled plate—if it holds its shape, it’s done.
