Description

Juicy seared chicken breasts smothered in creamy sour cream sauce and melted Jack cheese. Inspired by Texas Roadhouse, this comforting dish is ready in under 40 minutes and perfect for pairing with mashed potatoes or vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale

34 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup shredded Jack cheese

2 tablespoons olive oil

23 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup low-sodium chicken broth

½ cup sour cream

Salt and pepper to taste

Chopped green onions and paprika for topping

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Coat chicken breasts in olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

3. In a hot skillet, sear the chicken for about 5 minutes on each side until browned.

4. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

5. Pour in chicken broth and let it simmer, scraping the bottom of the pan.

6. Stir in sour cream and cook for about 5 minutes until blended and bubbling.

7. Top each chicken breast with shredded Jack cheese, then transfer skillet to oven.

8. Bake for 15 minutes or until cheese is fully melted.

9. Garnish with green onions and paprika before serving.

Notes

Check internal chicken temperature to ensure it reaches 165°F.

Let chicken rest a few minutes before slicing to retain juices.

Substitute Jack cheese with cheddar or pepper jack for variation.

Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheat in the microwave to retain moisture.
