Description
This 4th Of July Berry Trifle is a light, creamy no bake dessert with angel food cake, cheesecake pudding, Cool Whip, fresh strawberries, and blueberries. It is perfect for summer parties, Memorial Day, and patriotic holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
1 package (3 oz) cheesecake instant pudding mix
1 1/2 cups milk
8 oz Cool Whip, divided
1 angel food cake (15 oz), cut into 1 inch cubes
2 cups fresh strawberries, quartered
1 pint fresh blueberries
Instructions
1. Whisk the pudding mix and milk in a large bowl until smooth.
2. Fold or whisk in half of the Cool Whip until creamy.
3. Reserve a little fruit for garnish if desired.
4. Place half of the angel food cake cubes into a trifle dish or clear bowl.
5. Add half of the strawberries and blueberries over the cake.
6. Spread the pudding mixture evenly on top.
7. Add the remaining cake cubes.
8. Layer with the rest of the berries.
9. Finish with the remaining Cool Whip and extra fruit.
10. Chill until ready to serve.
Notes
Vanilla or white chocolate pudding can replace cheesecake pudding mix.
Pound cake, sponge cake, or white cake can replace angel food cake.
Red, white, and blue sprinkles can be added on top for decoration.
This dessert can also be assembled in mini cups or mason jars for individual servings.
For a patriotic look, arrange the berries into an American flag design on top.
Best served the same day for freshest texture and flavor.
Can be prepared a few hours ahead and refrigerated before serving.
Store covered in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days.
