Ingredients
1 package Oreo cookies
16 oz red, white, or blue candy melts
1 cup patriotic sprinkles
Instructions
1. Line a tray or work surface with parchment or wax paper.
2. Place sprinkles in a small bowl nearby.
3. Melt candy melts in a microwave-safe measuring cup using low power, stirring between heating intervals until smooth.
4. Dip each Oreo into the melted coating and turn to fully cover.
5. Lift with a fork, tap off excess coating, and place on the prepared surface.
6. Add sprinkles immediately before the coating sets.
7. Repeat with remaining cookies.
8. Allow cookies to harden for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Candy melts work easier than regular chocolate because they do not require tempering.
Stirring with silicone spatulas helps keep the coating smooth.
Apply toppings quickly while the coating still feels wet.
Cookies can be refrigerated briefly to speed up setting.
Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks at room temperature in a cool, dry place.
Refrigeration can extend freshness up to 4 weeks.
Customize with different candy melt colors and sprinkle designs for other holidays or occasions.
