Description

These baked peaches turn soft, juicy, buttery, and lightly caramelized in just 15 minutes. Brown sugar and cinnamon add warm flavor, while vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or caramel sauce make an easy finishing touch.

Ingredients

Scale

3 large ripe peaches

1 to 2 tablespoons salted butter

2 tablespoons light brown sugar

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Optional for serving: vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or caramel sauce

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a baking dish.

2. Cut the peaches in half, remove the pits, and arrange them cut side up in the prepared dish.

3. Place a small piece of butter, about 3/4 teaspoon, in the center of each peach half.

4. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, then sprinkle the mixture evenly over the peaches.

5. Bake for 10 to 13 minutes, or until the peaches feel tender and look lightly caramelized.

6. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or caramel sauce, if desired.

Notes

Use fresh, ripe peaches for the best flavor and texture. Avoid canned or frozen peaches.

You do not need to peel the peaches because the skins soften during baking.

For a grilled version, wrap each prepared peach half in foil and grill for 8 to 12 minutes, or until tender.

For a lighter dessert, serve the peaches with Greek yogurt or cottage cheese instead of ice cream.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheat leftovers in the microwave or oven until warm.

Freeze the baked peaches in a freezer safe container for up to 4 months.

The peaches become soft, juicy, buttery, and caramelized with a warm cinnamon flavor.
