Description

Cilantro Lime Shrimp Tacos with bright citrus flavor, tender shrimp, and creamy slaw. This quick seafood recipe comes together in under 30 minutes and delivers a fresh, tangy, and satisfying meal perfect for busy nights.


Ingredients

1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined

Salt to taste

Black pepper to taste

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp chili powder

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp butter

1 tsp lime zest

2 tbsp lime juice

1 tbsp honey

2 tbsp fresh cilantro chopped

2 cups green cabbage shredded

1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt

1 tbsp lime juice for slaw

2 tbsp cilantro for slaw

Salt for slaw

8 tortillas flour or corn

1 avocado sliced

Extra lime wedges


Instructions

1. Pat shrimp dry and season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and chili powder

2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium high heat and cook shrimp until opaque and lightly browned

3. Reduce heat and add butter, lime zest, lime juice, and honey then toss shrimp and simmer until sauce slightly thickens

4. Stir in chopped cilantro and remove from heat

5. In a bowl combine cabbage, Greek yogurt, lime juice, cilantro, and salt then mix until lightly coated

6. Warm tortillas on stovetop or microwave until soft

7. Add slaw to each tortilla then top with shrimp

8. Spoon extra sauce over shrimp and finish with avocado slices and fresh lime juice

Notes

Use medium to large shrimp for best texture

Do not overcrowd the pan when cooking shrimp

Pat shrimp dry before cooking for better sear

For dairy free version use dairy free butter and replace yogurt with olive oil

Store shrimp and slaw separately in airtight containers for up to 4 days

Warm tortillas before serving for best texture
