Description
Creamy Crock Pot Angel Chicken with tender slow cooked chicken, savory Italian-style sauce, and angel hair pasta. An easy comfort food dinner for busy nights.
Ingredients
1.5 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
16 ounce box angel hair pasta
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
3 tablespoons butter, softened
10.5 ounce can cream of chicken soup
3/4 cup chicken broth
1 packet dry Italian dressing mix, about 0.7 ounce
1 to 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
1. Lightly brown the chicken in a skillet with vegetable oil to add color and flavor, but do not cook it through.
2. Transfer the chicken to the slow cooker.
3. In a bowl or pan, combine cream cheese, butter, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, Italian dressing mix, and garlic until smooth.
4. Pour the creamy sauce over the chicken and coat it well.
5. Cover and cook on low for about 3 hours, until the chicken turns tender.
6. Cook the angel hair pasta separately according to package directions.
7. Serve the chicken and sauce over the cooked pasta.
Notes
Browning the chicken first adds flavor, but you can skip it for a faster prep.
The chicken becomes very tender, so handle it gently when serving.
Make the sauce smooth before adding it to the slow cooker for even cooking.
Cook the pasta separately and add it only when serving.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator and reheat gently with a splash of broth if needed.
