Description

Soft vanilla Easy 4th of July Cupcakes with red, white, and blue layers. These festive cupcakes are moist, colorful, and great for Independence Day, Memorial Day, cookouts, and summer parties.

Ingredients

Scale

113 g unsalted butter, room temperature

100 g granulated sugar

1 egg, room temperature

135 g all purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

80 g whole milk, room temperature

1/2 teaspoon white vinegar

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Red gel food coloring

Blue gel food coloring

Cream cheese frosting, for decorating

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven and line a cupcake tin with 6 liners.

2. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Add the egg and mix until smooth.

4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.

5. Warm the milk slightly, then stir in the white vinegar.

6. Gradually add the dry ingredients and milk mixture to the batter, mixing just until smooth.

7. In a small bowl, mix the baking soda with a little vinegar, then gently fold it into the batter.

8. Divide the batter into three portions.

9. Tint one portion red and one portion blue, then leave one portion plain.

10. Transfer each batter color into separate piping bags.

11. Pipe the batters into the cupcake liners in layers or patterns.

12. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

13. Let the cupcakes cool completely before decorating.

14. Frost with cream cheese frosting and add patriotic sprinkles if desired.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the colored batters to keep clean, defined layers.

Use piping bags for neat and even color placement.

Use room temperature ingredients for the best texture.

Let cupcakes cool fully before frosting to prevent melting.

For a marbled effect, gently swirl the colors with a toothpick instead of keeping defined layers.

Store carefully in an airtight container to protect the frosting and keep cupcakes fresh.
