Description
Fresh Mango Lemonade is a sweet, tangy, tropical drink made with mango purée, fresh lemon juice, homemade simple syrup, and chilled water. It is bright, refreshing, and perfect for warm days.
Ingredients
5 ½ to 6 ½ cups water, divided
1 ½ cups white sugar
1 ½ cups freshly squeezed lemon juice, from about 8 to 10 lemons
2 cups mango chunks, fresh or frozen and thawed if needed
Instructions
1. Heat the sugar with part of the water in a saucepan until it nearly boils and the sugar fully dissolves, then let it cool to form a simple syrup.
2. Blend the mango chunks with a small amount of water until smooth.
3. In a large pitcher, combine the mango purée, lemon juice, and cooled syrup.
4. Add the remaining water and mix well.
5. Adjust the water amount to taste.
6. Cover and chill in the refrigerator before serving.
7. Stir before serving, then pour over ice.
Notes
Store refrigerated for up to 3 to 5 days.
For the freshest taste, enjoy within 24 hours.
Freeze for up to 3 months if needed.
Strain lemon juice before using to remove seeds and excess pulp.
Stir before serving since mango may settle at the bottom.
Frozen mango works well when thawed first.
Sweetness and tartness can be adjusted to taste.
Use coconut water, mint, lime juice, other fruits, or sparkling water for variations.
Partially freeze leftovers and blend into a slushy.
