Description

Hocus Pocus Halloween Cookies are rich chocolate cookies filled with gooey green frosting and topped with colorful Halloween M&Ms. They make a fun dessert for Halloween parties, family baking, and spooky movie nights.


Ingredients

1 cup unsalted sweet cream butter

3/4 cup granulated sugar

2/3 cup packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups all purpose flour

2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

16 ounces white frosting

3 to 5 drops neon green gel food coloring

Green, orange, and purple M&M candies


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

2. Separate the green, orange, and purple M&M candies.

3. Mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in one bowl.

4. In another bowl, beat the butter with both sugars until light.

5. Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract.

6. Gradually add the dry ingredients until a dough forms.

7. Fold in about half of the M&M candies.

8. Shape the dough into approximately 2 inch balls.

9. Press the remaining M&M candies onto the tops.

10. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes.

11. Let the cookies cool briefly on the baking sheet.

12. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack and cool completely.

13. Warm the frosting for about 10 to 15 seconds until soft.

14. Stir in the neon green food coloring.

15. Fill a flavor injector with the green frosting.

16. Insert the injector into the side of each cooled cookie.

17. Fill until the top begins to crack and the green frosting becomes visible.
