Description

This homemade Italian Dressing comes together in just 5 minutes with extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, Dijon mustard, oregano, and basil. It tastes bright, tangy, herby, and garlicky, and works well for green salads, pasta salads, vegetables, and marinades.

Ingredients

Scale

3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

1/4 cup red wine vinegar

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 clove garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

1. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl or jar.

2. Whisk vigorously or seal the jar and shake until the dressing is thoroughly blended and emulsified.

3. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.

4. Use immediately or refrigerate for later use.

Notes

Store the dressing in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

The olive oil may become firm or cloudy when chilled. Allow the dressing to sit at room temperature briefly, then shake or whisk it again before serving.

This Italian Dressing works well with green salads, pasta salads, vegetables, and as a marinade.
