Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
1 1/4 cups sugar
4 oz cream cheese
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup red, white, and blue sprinkles
Extra red, white, and blue sprinkles for coating
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Beat butter, sugar, and cream cheese until light and fluffy.
3. Mix in egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
4. Add baking powder, baking soda, and salt, then gradually stir in flour until a dough forms.
5. Fold in the red, white, and blue sprinkles.
6. Scoop dough into small balls, about 2 inches wide.
7. Roll each dough ball in extra sprinkles to coat.
8. Arrange cookies on the prepared baking sheet.
9. Bake for about 10 minutes, until edges look set and centers still look soft.
10. Let cookies rest on the pan briefly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
