Notes
Do not overheat melting wafers or candy melts or they may seize and harden.
Chilling the cake balls before coating helps them hold their shape.
A small amount of vegetable or coconut oil can be added to melted coating for a smoother finish.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4–5 days.
Freeze in an airtight container or freezer bag for up to 1 year.
White chocolate chips, almond bark, or white candy melts can replace vanilla wafers.
Different food coloring combinations can be used for other holidays or occasions.
Cake pops can be made by inserting lollipop sticks before coating.
Flavor variations such as lemon or almond extract can be added to the cake batter.
