Description
Festive Red White & Blue Jello Shots with fruity layers and a creamy center. Perfect for 4th of July parties, easy to make ahead, and great for serving a crowd.
Ingredients
3 ounce cherry or red gelatin
3 ounce berry blue gelatin
3 cups boiling water divided
1½ cups cold water divided
1½ cups vodka divided
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
0.5 ounce unflavored gelatin (about 2 packets)
Small plastic shot cups with lids
Optional star sprinkles or toppings
Instructions
1. Prepare shot cups on a tray that fits in the refrigerator
2. Dissolve blue gelatin in boiling water, then mix in cold water and vodka
3. Pour blue layer into cups filling one third and chill until firm
4. Bloom unflavored gelatin in cold water, then dissolve with boiling water
5. Stir in sweetened condensed milk and vodka, then cool slightly
6. Pour white layer over blue layer to reach two thirds full and chill until set
7. Dissolve red gelatin in boiling water, then mix in cold water and vodka
8. Pour red layer over the white layer to fill cups
9. Refrigerate until fully set before serving
10. Keep chilled until ready to serve
Notes
Let each layer fully set before adding the next for clean layers
Allow mixtures to cool slightly before pouring to avoid melting layers
Different red and blue gelatin flavors can be used
Recipe can be scaled for large gatherings
Decorate with sprinkles, whipped topping, or fruit if desired
Store covered in the refrigerator
Can be made non alcoholic by replacing vodka with water
