Description

Snickers Salad is a quick no bake dessert salad made with crisp Granny Smith apples, creamy vanilla pudding, fluffy whipped topping, and chopped Snickers bars. It is sweet, creamy, slightly tart, and perfect for 4th of July gatherings, potlucks, holidays, and summer parties.

Ingredients

Scale

3.4 ounces instant vanilla pudding mix

3/4 cup whole milk

8 ounces Cool Whip or 1 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped to stiff peaks

6 Granny Smith apples, divided, with 1 reserved for garnish

6 full-size Snickers bars, divided, with 1 reserved for garnish

1/4 cup caramel sauce, optional

Instructions

1. Whisk the pudding mix with milk in a large bowl until smooth and thickened, then gently fold in the whipped topping or whipped cream until fully combined.

2. Core and chop most of the apples, reserving one for garnish. If preparing ahead, briefly coat the apple pieces in lemon juice or a clear soda to prevent browning, then dry them well.

3. Cut most of the Snickers bars into small chunks, keeping one aside for garnish.

4. Fold the apples and candy pieces into the pudding mixture until evenly distributed. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

5. Before serving, top with the remaining chopped apple and Snickers pieces and drizzle with caramel sauce if desired.

Notes

Apples can brown quickly, so treating them with lemon juice or a citrus soda helps maintain their color if making the dish in advance.

The salad can be prepared ahead and stored in the refrigerator for a couple of days if the apples are treated properly.

Different pudding flavors such as butterscotch, caramel, or chocolate can be used for variation.

Other candy bars like Twix, Milky Way, or Rolos can replace Snickers.

Additional fruits such as grapes, strawberries, or bananas can be mixed in for variation.

Best served chilled.
