Description
These Snowman Cake Pops are soft, sweet, and joyfully festive — a perfect Christmas dessert made with boxed cake mix, creamy frosting, and smooth white chocolate coating. Fun to decorate, adorable to serve, and great for gifting!
Ingredients
1 box white cake mix (15.25 oz / 432 g)
Water, oil, and eggs (as listed on box)
Nonstick spray, for pans
1/3 cup vanilla or cream cheese frosting (75 g)
12 oz white candy melts (340 g)
1–2 tsp refined coconut oil (5–10 g), optional
1/3 cup mini chocolate chips (60 g)
1 tbsp orange sprinkles or orange candy melts (15 g)
Lollipop sticks (about 20)
Styrofoam block (for drying)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 8×8-inch pans. Prepare cake batter per box directions and divide evenly. Bake 22–26 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.
2. Crumble cooled cake finely in a large bowl. Add 1/3 cup frosting and mix until the texture is dough-like and holds its shape.
3. Roll 19 large balls (1 tbsp each) for bodies and 19 small balls (1 tsp each) for heads. Place on parchment-lined sheet and freeze 20 minutes.
4. Melt a small amount of white candy melts in 30-second microwave intervals, stirring after each.
5. Dip one end of each lollipop stick into the melted chocolate and insert into a small ball (head). Dip again, attach to a large ball (body), then freeze 10 minutes to set.
6. Melt remaining white candy melts in 30-second bursts until smooth. Add a little coconut oil if too thick.
7. Dip each snowman fully into melted chocolate, letting excess drip off. While still wet, attach mini chocolate chips for eyes and buttons and an orange sprinkle for the nose.
8. Stand pops upright in styrofoam to dry 10–15 minutes. Decorate further with icing scarves or hats if desired.
9. Serve at room temperature or package individually for gifts.
Notes
Makes about 19 cake pops.
Chill the balls before coating to prevent crumbling.
If coating thickens, add coconut oil to thin it.
To fix cracks, apply a thin re-dip once the chocolate sets.
Store in airtight container: 3 days at room temp, 1 week in fridge, or 1 month in freezer (wrapped individually).
Thaw in fridge several hours before serving to prevent sweating.
Use white cake for a snowy look or red velvet for a festive surprise!
