Description

This Ultimate Ham Salad combines savory diced ham, crisp celery, dill pickles, red onion, fresh parsley, mayonnaise, and Dijon mustard. It is creamy, chunky, crunchy, and ready in just 15 minutes with no cooking required.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups ham, diced small

2 celery ribs, finely diced

1/4 cup dill pickles, finely diced

1/4 cup red onion, finely diced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Kosher salt, to taste

Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Add the diced ham, celery, dill pickles, red onion, parsley, mayonnaise, and Dijon mustard to a large bowl.

2. Season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.

3. Mix until all ingredients are evenly coated and well combined.

4. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.

5. Serve in sandwiches, lettuce wraps, over leafy greens, or as a side salad.

Notes

Dice the ham, vegetables, and pickles to roughly the same small size for an even, chunky texture.

Leftover cooked ham works well, while uncured ham steak works when leftovers are unavailable.

Ham and pickles can already taste salty, so taste the salad before adding much extra salt.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days.

Do not leave the salad at room temperature for extended periods because it contains mayonnaise.
